Shin / Knee Guards = Worthy Investment!

OUCH! Riding can hurt!

After years of riding my shins are missing chunks. Years of BMX with good ole’ Bear Trap pedals have take their toll. as a cheap peice of mind I have decided to invest in a set of shin / knee guards. The objective here is to spend as little as possiable, get the most protection while not being able to notice they are there.

I am not sure how successful I will be at finding something to fill all those criteria…but we’ll see. I have narrowed down my choices to two different brands of shin / knee pads. The Fox Racing Standard Knee/Shin Guard and the SHIFT Knee/Shin Guards. Both are priced very fairly with the SHIFT brand coming in cheaper at $12.95 (as of 04/22/2008). The Fox shin guards are priced at 14.95 (as of 04/22/2008). As I as get some time wearing them in expect to find more in the comments of this post…

Ok I ordered these now 14 days ago as of 18 minutes ago.

I got one mail confirming my order. I didn’t receive any tracking info.

I emailed them 2 days ago about my order. I haven’t heard anything back from them yet.

These are the facts. I ordered them shipped ground as I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal. I’ll post back when they actually show up.

So far…Not really impressed with their protocol.

    ================================================

    NOTE:
These shin guards were ordered through ridegear.com, one of the many affiliates here at PHW. I should say they were an affiliate because they are officially removed from the list.

http://www.JensonUSA.com seems to be the company to stick with. very professional and timely. we will be using t hem solely, and with over 8,000 products to sift through, I am fairly certain we can all find what we are looking for.

2 THUMBS ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR RIDE GEAR.

So 3 emails and 1 phone call later I still haven’t heard one thing about my shin guards. No one responds to my emails. I called, was on hold for 15 mins, and hung up on by there automated teller.

I’ve now been waiting 16 days and have heard nothing other than my order was placed. I have been provided with no tracking info either.

I wanted to cancel my order, but you have to do that by phone and no one answers.

I WONT be buying anything else from them and wont be mentioning them until I write an article about affiliates. This has been a horrible shopping experience. I’m glad I didn’t order anything expensive. I’ll keep you posted about my progress.

I would kill these guys as an affiliate. they have a nice looking site, but they have terrible customer relations.

Ok this company truly sucks. I sent them another email this morning. I just tried calling them back and they are not currently taking phone calls. You just get an automated message saying that they have a higher than normal call volume and please call back at a later time. Then you get hung up on.

At this point I can’t even call to cancel my order. Again I’m glad this wasn’t something big, but my shins are getting beat up waiting for this order to come through.

Well I finally got ahold of customer service, but I had to spam them to get someone to respond. Below is my spam mail.

This is me being the squeaky wheel. I placed my order April 30. I never received shipping info. I haven’t gotten my package yet. I’ve emailed your company numerous times about what to do. I’ve called 4 times and get your automated service. The only other option I have now is to spam you.

Where are my shin guards? When can I expect to get them? Where is my tracking info? Do you have a customer service number someone actually answers????

I want to cancel my order. It’s already been 22 days since my order was placed. now you’re telling me that I’m going to have to wait 7-10 more days? This is the first I am hearing from you people. I’ve read the horror stories online about your company. I want to take my business elsewhere.

Needless to say this one didn’t work out. STay away from these guys!!!!
